This summer, I\u2019ve put out a lot of content about Ordo Templi Orientis. I\u2019ve described how it promotes unstable leaders, protects high-degree abusers, spies on its members, punishes criticism, and sculpts people into shapes fundamentally at odds with the Law of Thelema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The reactions have been intense: gratitude from those relieved to hear their experiences put into words, and attacks that are smug, nasty, or emotionally manipulative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve been called a grifter\u2014but also told no one would pay me for what I offer.
I\u2019m doing it for the clicks\u2014but I\u2019m also losing followers.
I\u2019m bitter at OTO\u2014but don\u2019t worry, it\u2019s not working, people aren\u2019t leaving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What all these attacks share is the assumption that I\u2019m trying to get people to do <\/em>something: join my side, leave OTO, click my videos, give me money, or enlist in my (non-existent) order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Let me be clear: I needed allies when I was inside <\/em>OTO. That was part of the problem. Keeping a dozen people pointed toward meritocracy required so much political endurance that it destroyed any joy in the work. I left that game behind, and I\u2019m not interested in playing it again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nor is this about money. Sabazius once mocked my Will Discovery business, sneering, \u201cWho would pay for this?\u201d Honestly? Very few. I\u2019m not good at business. But I\u2019d rather be bad at this than be a successful courtier in a glorified high school popularity contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So no\u2014I\u2019m not trying to \u201cget\u201d anyone to do anything. I\u2019m saying what I\u2019ve seen, and what I think it means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I don\u2019t lie. I don\u2019t play dirty tricks. And I don\u2019t back down unless there\u2019s a very good reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If people resonate, they resonate. If they don\u2019t, they don\u2019t. Agreement is cheap. Integrity is not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n My work has never been about pandering; it\u2019s always been about speaking to what feels urgent and true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That doesn\u2019t mean I\u2019m untouchable. I can be influenced\u2014but only by actual friends. And friendship isn\u2019t about shared interests, group identity, or even opinions. It\u2019s about shared goodness<\/em>. That\u2019s a high bar, and it has to be, because anything less leaves you at the mercy of the strongest force around you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n OTO taught me this the hard way: many supposed friends betrayed me. That sobered me up about the difference between group belonging and real friendship. It\u2019s another reason why I won\u2019t be swayed by strangers online. I\u2019ve seen what fake allyship is worth. And I know what the real thing looks like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The principles I stand on aren\u2019t bargaining chips to keep people close; nor are they concessions to soften attacks. They\u2019re the architecture of my own power: honesty, fairness, courage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That\u2019s the foundation of what I\u2019m building\u2014not an organization, but a life<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I think if some of my critics could see what was actually in my head and heart, they\u2019d stop trying to influence me. Not because they\u2019d agree with me, but because they\u2019d realize how futile it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Take it. Leave it. Hate it.
