But behind that tidy narrative is a system trying to pass off its dysfunction as inevitability, and its bad choices as \u201cjust the way of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s be clear: I didn\u2019t leave because I was tired or overwhelmed. I left when <a><\/a>I was at the top of my game. My events were drawing crowds. Officers were texting me to say even my meetings were fun. I was having the time of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I left because I became unwilling to participate in patterns of complicity, coercion, and control. I submitted documentation. I asked hard questions. I followed the process. And what I got back was silence, deflection, and quiet pressure to just let it go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The issue isn\u2019t that the work is hard.
