Over the past few days, I’ve seen some people try to explain my resignation as just another case of burnout—like it’s all part of some natural cycle. But behind that tidy narrative is a system trying to pass off its dysfunction as inevitability, and its bad choices as “just the way of the world.”
Let’s be clear: I didn’t leave because I was tired or overwhelmed. I left when I was at the top of my game. My events were drawing crowds. Officers were texting me to say even my meetings were fun. I was having the time of my life.
I left because I became unwilling to participate in patterns of complicity, coercion, and control. I submitted documentation. I asked hard questions. I followed the process. And what I got back was silence, deflection, and quiet pressure to just let it go.
The issue isn’t that the work is hard. The work is fun.
The issue is that it becomes impossible to do with integrity inside a structure that treats clarity as disruption and loyalty as virtue.
